Ok...who was it that fed us this propaganda about this being the Golden Age???? Everyone I know has a pain here or there, a list of medications that would ruin a spelling bee, a social life that consists of going to church, the grocery store and the doctor! It's hard to get up out of a chair and if you happen to land on the floor, you will stay there, unless, of course, you have your button that calls out, "help, I've fallen and I can't get up"!
Now, don't get me wrong. I am actually in pretty good health for 70. I go to the gym, eat reasonably healthy foods, socialize, play bridge, do crafts, etc. It's just that since I turned 70, my face has crumbled and my tummy has expanded. My skin has ripples and my legs and arms sent their fat to my above mentioned tummy. Each year a new pill is added to my once a day aspirin regimen. My husband is 10 years older than I and takes 22 pills a day.
Then there's the memory...you wake up in the middle of the night remembering the name of the person you talked to for one half hour at the party the night before. It's all over if you go to the grocery store without your list. If you don't write it down, it doesn't happen.
That's all for today. I forgot I had to pay bills.
